Ancient Vidyeshwar mandir here, contemporary to Lohnā-Vidyeshwar. On a Vishnu idol, there is an inscription of King Malladeva, elder son of Nānyadeva (founder of famous Karnāt dynasty of Mithnilā in 1091 AD).

    darbhanga-bahera-bhith bhagwanpur-madhepur-dwalakh-parsarma-singheswarsthan-purnia was the road during the period 12-16th century which was very frequently used by sultans of gaur bengal,nawabs of jaunpur, siltans of delhi, governors of patna/hajipur. it was one of the important rajmargs of mediemal bihar.
